Emergency Vehicle

Operators Course

This course will meet the requirements of Vanessa Kay Free and serve to improve the decision making and driver skills of our emergency responders.

Participation is voluntary and adherence to program standards is the responsibility of each emergency services agency that chooses to use this curriculum.

VFIS Cone Course schedule TBA by participating Fire Departments.

 

Here are the steps to follow to complete this course:

  1. Download the IAFF Participant's Guide (click on cover picture above) and read Intro through Chapter 3.

  2. Download & complete Module # 1 Quiz.

  3. Read Chapter 4 in IAFF Participant's Guide.

  4. Download & complete Module #2 Quiz

  5. Download and complete NFPA Road Course with a Driver Coach from your department that is approved by your training officer.

  6. Download Student Cone Course Evaluation form and signup for the VFIS Cone Course scheduled in your district (see your training officer for schedule).

  7. Submit Quizzes, NFPA Road Course, and VFIS Cone Course documentation to your training officer.
