How to get started on your career as a fire fighter:

General Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age

• Excellent health, free from any medical or

physical conditions which would interfere with

effective performance on the job

• Possess a high school diploma or GED

• Possess a valid driver’s license

• Ability to pass an in-depth background

Investigation

SELECTION PROCESS

Candidates will be expected to turn in an application and have an in-depth background check.  Once application and background check is reviewed, the applicant will go through an oral interview, in front of the Cheatham County training committee which consists of a representative from each fire department, and physical ability test. After completing this process each applicant will be notified of acceptance to the Cheatham County Fire Fighters’ Association recruit class.
